RECOMMENDED PRESSURE GUARD E.S.D. FALL MAINTENANCE

Fall is upon us and this is the time to do a site visit with our customers to perform routine preventative maintenance on your BETTIS PRESSURE GUARD E.S.D. SYSTEMS. The manufacturer recommends that regular maintenance be performed every fall, or as required.

This service should be performed as follows:

  1. DRAIN any accumulated MOISTURE from fluid reservoir
  2. Check,CLEAN and/or REPLACE filter element(s)
  3. Check, pressure relief valve(s) set points and reset valve(s)
  4. If possible, check operation and calibration of pressure pilot/solenoid.
  5. TOP UP or REPLACE hydraulic fluid with Esso Univus J-13 hydraulic fluid or an approved compatible fluid.

Although Bettis Pressure Guard systems are noted as being highly reliable and trouble free, REGULAR SCHEDULED PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE on these or any hydraulic self contained system has proven to be effective in preventing costly failures, malfunctions and nuisance tripping during cold months.

WELLHEAD SERVICING

Fall is upon us and this is the time to do a site visit with our customers to perform Routine preventative maintenance on you're A.P.I. WELLHEAD VALVES. There are a few precautions that should be taken prior to the onset of cold weather.

The valve body should be drained to eliminate any weather accumulation, since the primary problem associated with cold weather is the freezing of water in the valve.

We provide a valve servicing program that provides the following:

  • Visual inspection of the valve to check for leakage or corrosion.
  • Inspect body grease fittings, packing injector fitting and grease zerks.
  • Drain the valve body to remove any water that may have accumulated.
  • Lubricate the valve body.
  • Lubricate the stem bearings with winter grade grease.
  • Adjust stem packing.
  • Adjust or add injection packing
  • Cycle the valve fully open and closed at least once to ensure operation.
  • Valve service reports indicating: make, model, serial number, valve location (master valve, casing valve, annulus valve etc.), and LSD #, are provided.

Our valve servicing program will help assure trouble free service of your valves and prevent costly downtime and failures.
